The primary goal of this workshop is to cultivate interdisciplinary collaboration and foster discussions on the responsible and impactful application of AI in social research.
Topics of Interest
We welcome contributions across a broad range of topics, including but not limited to:
- Large language models for social research and content analysis
- Computational methods to study cultural patterns and evolution
- Computational psychology and well-being
- Social network analysis
- Online content moderation (e.g., identifying toxic/hate speech, threats, bias, abusive content, spam, and stance)
- Echo chamber analysis
- Misinformation and disinformation
- AI-driven methodologies for the public good (e.g., public health, public opinion, public policy)
- Geospatial analysis for social sciences
- Hybrid collective intelligence and crowd wisdom
- Ethics of computational social science and AI-driven social research
- Challenges in applying AI research methods to computational social science
Submission Instructions
You may submit your paper in one of the following two ways:
- Direct Submission: Submit directly to the workshop through the official submission site.
- Transfer from Main Conference: Papers not accepted by the main ICDM conference will be automatically considered for this workshop if selected during submission to the main conference (this applies to both short and full paper tracks).
All submissions must follow the IEEE 2-column format.
Proceedings and Registration Policy
All accepted workshop papers will be published in the dedicated ICDMW proceedings, issued by the IEEE Computer Society Press.
- A paid registration is required for every accepted workshop paper, whether the author presents in person or virtually.
- Each accepted paper (across both the main conference and workshops) must have at least one registered author.
- Please note that non-archival submissions are not permitted. All accepted papers will be included in the official ICDMW proceedings.
